Meet the Owners

Many people often wonder when renting a home, how old are the sheets, are all the appliances working, do the owners really take care of the house?  We take pride in our home and work hard at keeping it up to date and everything in good working order.  Below you will see descriptions and dates of all the work we have done on the house including big items like painting the exterior and small items like replacing the sheets.  I hope this gives you confidence that you are renting a great house!

June 2010: We replaced a bike seat on one of the bikes and a wheel on one of the bikes.  We changed out all the locks on the doors and fixed a few doorknobs on some of the interior doors.  We replaced half the towels with new ones.  We changed out two of the blinds upstairs for new blinds.  We bought a bunch of grill scrapers as the grill gets lots of use during the summer.  The house is ready for summer renters!

March 2010: We had all 5 bikes tuned up and ready for the summer season.  We also have several tire tubes at the house in case there are any tire punctures.  We purchased 2 new sets of sheets for the queen bed and the king bed (4 sets total).  We bought a bunch of new lightbulbs to make sure there are replacements available if a bulb burns out.  Also bought laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, filled up all the spices, replaced the batteries in the smoke detectors and fire starters.

November 2009: We replaced all the windows in the house!  This helps keep you nice and warm in the winter and cooler in the summer.  It also helps conserve electricity!

July 2009: We replaced both slip covers for our couches.

May 2009: We were able to spend a whole week here and introduce our baby daughter to the Sunriver area!  We bought all new towels as well as a new king size and new queen size sheet sets.  We added an outdoor thermometer to the deck, so it's nice to see the temp before you go outside!  We replaced one of the blinds in the living room and put new door knobs on both of the bedrooms.  We replaced the kitchen faucet as the old one was looking pretty dated.  We filled up all the spices, bought more coffee filters and coffee and added a new set of tupperware.  We added two more outdoor chairs for the deck for a total of 6 adult and 1 child chair.  We bought more tennis balls as all of ours had disappeared.  We replaced all the batteries in the smoke detectors.  We also purchased a new sledge for cutting the large firewood down for kindling.  We had had one before but it seems to have walked off at some point.

Feb 2009: We added two end tables and two new lamps to the living room.  The lamps and end tables were made by our awesome furniture makers in Sunriver (www.sunriverrusticfurniture.com)

Nov 2008: Replaced all the batteries in the smoke detectors, 6 new DVD's, new furnace filter, fireplace cleaned, carpets professionally cleaned

May 2008: A new 42" plasma TV, 8 new DVD's and 8 new sport Playstation 2 games, 2 Playstation controllers (so we have 4 total now), new bath towels, new sheets for the king bed, new Emeril All-Clad pots and frying pans (great sturdy pans for cooking!), 2 new cruiser bikes - 1 female, 1 male

April 2008: TV stand made by our great rustic furniture makers and a new dresser for the Volcano room.

January 2008: A new dresser for the River Room made of rustic logs

November 2007: Filled Propane tanks, filled several spices that were getting low, bought vegetable oil to have in pantry.  Had professional carpet cleaner come out to clean carpets.  Had professional chimney sweep come out to clean fireplace.  Replaced about half the towels (we go through the towels and toss those that are starting to look used).  Replaced several bike tires that were getting worn.  Replaced the print cartridges in the printer, but were never able to get the printer working correctly...not sure what is wrong with it!  Bought a new stereo which works much better than the old one - has a CD player, FM/AM tuner and IPod dock.  Replaced smoke detector batteries.

June 2007: 3 Deck chairs (2 adult and 1 child) as well as a small table were added.  We also replaced the toilet seats on both the toilets.  We put a new four burner toaster and large griddle for making pancakes in the kitchen.  We purchased a new set of sheets for each of the bedrooms and we added 4 more beach towels for the pool and hot tub.

April/May 2007: Exterior of house painted, new privacy wall erected around the hot tub and the deck was refinished.

Feb 2007: We put in a new kitchen table and 6 chairs as well as an overhead light to match the table.  The table, chairs and light were made by our friends at Sunriver Rustic Furniture and it's beautiful!  We also added a ceiling fan and light in the volcano room.  We replaced the thermostat so that it's electronic now and not a manual dial.  We replaced about half the towels.

October 2006: Carpet professionally cleaned, chimney professionally cleaned, had the ducts cleaned to keep everyone breathing well when they stay at the house!  Filled the propane tanks.  Bought a new washing machine.  Filled the spice jars, bought coffee to have at the house and vegetable oil.  Replaced smoke detector batteries.  Purchased a new mattress pad for the queen bed, new pillows for both bedrooms and a new comforter for the River Room.  Purchased an air mattress so guests would be more comfortable than on the pull out sofas.  Replaced bath towels that were worn out.

April 2006: Added several new DVD's to the collection.  Bought a new alarm clock for the Volcano Room.  Installed a ceiling fan and light in the River room.  Purchased a new computer and anti-virus software as the old computer died on us.

October 2005: We bought a new dryer and replaced about every appliance in the kitchen: refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, new plates, bowls and mugs, toaster, silverware, knives, frying pans, crockpot.

June 2005:  Added new nightstands in the Volcano room, cleaned and re-stained the deck

April/May 2005: We bought the home in early April 2005 and put a lot of money and energy into it!  We had a new roof installed and purchased a new 7 person Sundance hot tub.  We bought a new king mattress for the River Room and queen mattress for the Volcano Room.  We bought a new VCR/DVD player combo and a used Playstation 2 for the living room and new TV/DVD combo for the River Room.  We bought a used computer for guests to use.  We bought two nightstands and a bookshelf for the River Room.  We also added two chairs, a small table and a grill for the deck.  Finally we painted both bathrooms and both bedrooms ourselves and hired someone to paint the hallway and upstairs for us.  We also added a ton of smaller things: new sheets and bath towels, DVD's, board games, pictures for the walls, decorations for each of the bedrooms, comforters, used port-a-crib and high chair, books on Sunriver area, tennis rackets, lamps, portable fans, new bike tires, spices, vegetable oil, used stereo and CD player
